Wisdom of the Saints - St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi
How can Saints speak to us in our own life situations today, become our friends, and help us to deepen our faith? Once a month (3rd Friday of each month), we meet in-person at St. Bernhard to focus on the life and writings of one great Saint. Group discussions provide an opportunity to reflect on the Saint’s message to us as we walk our personal journey of faith.
On July 17, we continue with the life and faith lessons from St. Francis of Assisi, and also meet his sister in faith, St. Clare of Assisi. We will also explore excerpts from Little Flowers of St. Francis, a classic work of Christian literature, which radiates Franciscan love and joy ("Little flowers" means a collection of stories about the notable events in the lives of St. Francis and his followers. Brother Ugolino gathered these stories in the early 1300s. He wanted to show how St. Francis lived like Jesus by teaching his followers to give up worldly things and focus on humility and holiness).
Newcomers are warmly welcome! For more information, please contact Sharon at nemethst@aol.com
Time/location: 7:00 - 8:30 PM at St. Bernhard's church, parish hall's small basement lounge.
PLEASE NOTE: Wisdom of the Saints will be on break in August and September. We will resume on October 16th , when we meet St. Therese of Lisieux, “The Little Flower of Jesus.”.
